TIA Applauds Senate Confirmation of FCC Commissioner O'Rielly
Arlington, Va. (Dec. 17, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded the Senate confirmation of Mike O'Rielly to a full term at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
TIA CEO Scott Belcher released the following statement:
"There are few people in Washington who have the depth of experience and knowledge of telecommunications issues as Mike O'Rielly. We expect he will bring to the FCC the same intelligent, markets-driven problem solving that he's been known for on Capitol Hill. Such an approach is especially important as the FCC considers abandoning the light-touch approach to Internet regulation, which has led to so much private-sector investment and so many consumer benefits.
"We congratulate Mike on his confirmation and look forward to working with him on the many important telecommunications issues that lie ahead."
