TIA issues New Transmission Requirements for Analog Telephones with Handsets

Arlington, VA (April 23, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, ANSI/TIA-470.110-D, Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Transmission Requirements for Analog Telephones with Handsets

The ANSI/TIA-470.110-D revision provides requirements to revise the frequency response masks, add additional requirements regarding receiver levels with varying input signal levels, and volume control measurements using conversational gain.

ANSI/TIA-470.110-D was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-41 Performance and Accessibility for Communications Products, TR-41.3 Analog and Digital Wireline Terminals.
