TIA issues New Recommended Minimum Performance Standards for cdma2000® Spread Spectrum Mobile Stations

Arlington, VA (April 24, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-98-H-1[E], Recommended Minimum Performance Standards for cdma2000® Spread Spectrum Mobile Stations.

The TIA-98-H-1[E] revision provides technical revisions to the MPS documents for cdma2000 1x MS and BS, cdma2000 HRPD AT and AN, and SVDO AT.  In addition, the test procedures for multiple tests have been clarified.  The standard details definitions, methods of measurement, and minimum performance characteristics for Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) mobile stations. This Standard shares the purpose of TIA-2000.2-F (and subsequent revision thereof) by ensuring that a mobile station can obtain service in any cellular system that meets the compatibility requirements of TIA-2000.2-F.  Compatibility, as used in connection with this Standard and TIA-2000.2-F, is understood to mean that any mobile station is able to place and receive calls in any CDMA system.

TIA-98-H-1[E] was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Point-to-Point Communications Standards, TR-45.5 Spread Spectrum Digital Technology -- Mobile and Personal Communications Standards
