TIA issues New Layer 1 Standard Specification for the Smart Utility Network Standard

ANSI/TIA-4957.100 Specifies Requirements for: Layer 1 Standard Specification for the Smart Utility Network.

Arlington, VA (April 02, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, ANSI/TIA-4957.100 Layer 1 Standard Specification for the Smart Utility Network

ANSI/TIA-4957.100 specifies requirements for telecommunications infrastructure for: This is the first part of a multi-part standard specification for the smart utility network. This first part covers OSI Layer 1 (the physical layer). It is intended to be derived from the IEEE 802.15.4g PHY amendment, and streamlined for improved interoperability and consistency. The remaining parts will cover OSI layers 2 through 4. The standard is intended for networks with a wireless mesh topology.

ANSI/TIA-4957.100 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-51 Smart Utility Networks, TR-51 Smart Utility Networks.
