TIA issues New MAP Support for the Mobile Equipment Identity (MEID) Standard

TIA-928-A Specifies Requirements for MAP Support for the Mobile Equipment Identity (MEID)

Arlington, VA (July 03, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-928-A MAP Support for the Mobile Equipment Identity (MEID)

TIA-928-A was developed to align Equipment Identity Register (EIR) capabilities with cdma2000 Release E Status Request capabilities on the circuit-switched radio interface. This requires distinguishing between the ME’s Mobile Equipment ID (MEID_ME) and the Short Form Expanded UIMID (SF_EUIMID). It also allows multiple RECORD_TYPE values in Status Request messages to align with the IOS (Inter- Operability Specification).

TIA-928-A was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Standards, TR-45.8 Core Networks - Mobile and Personal Communications Standards
