TIA issues New EUTRAN – eHRPD Interworking Matrix Technical Report Standard

TSB-4977 Provides a Guide for EUTRAN – eHRPD Interworking Matrix Technical Report

Arlington, VA (July 1, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TSB-4977, EUTRAN – eHRPD Interworking Matrix Technical Report.

TSB-4977 is meant as a high level guide to key interworking features. Evolved High Rate Packet Data (eHRPD)-Evolved Universal Telecommunications Radio Access Network (EUTRAN) interworking is captured in tables categorized by key interworking features. For each interworking feature, relevant 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) publications are referenced, and likewise for 3rd Generation Partnership Project Two (3GPP2) publications.

The TSB provides a reference of features and functions pertinent for interworking between eHRPD and EUTRAN, and contains a list of specifications of both 3GPP and 3GPP2 for each of the features listed.

3GPP’s TS 23.402 8.10.0,Technical Specification Group Services and System Aspects; Architecture Enhancements for non-3GPP Accesses, is the first release of this nature for LTE technology, and the subject of this TSB’s interworking matrix in the current form.  Revisions of the TSB will be used to address subsequent 3GPP releases.

TSB-4977 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Standards, TR-45.8 Core Networks - Mobile and Personal Communications Standards
