TIA issues New E-UTRAN – cdma2000® 1x Connectivity and Interworking Air Interface Specification Standard

TIA-1184-A Specifies Requirements for E-UTRAN – cdma2000® 1x Connectivity and Interworking Air Interface Specification

Arlington, VA (July 24, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-1184-A, E-UTRAN – cdma2000® 1x Connectivity and Interworking Air Interface Specification.

The Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) – cdma2000® 1x Connectivity and Interworking Air Interface revision includes an update for the presentation of the Calling Party Number before handing over to 1x, along with additional enhancements on handing over from E-UTRAN to 1x. This standard is evolved from and is a companion to the cdma2000® standards.  It applies to cdma2000® 1x compliant mobile stations and base stations which are enhanced to support the E-UTRAN and cdma2000® 1x interworking.  It includes provision for future service additions and expansion of system capabilities.

TIA-1184-A was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Standards, TR-45.5 Spread Spectrum Digital Technology -- Mobile and Personal Communications Standards
