TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Security Framework for Binding of Access Subscription with Devices

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (July 1, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-45 Engineering Committee on Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Standards has issued a call for interest for document TIA-4999 initially titled "Security Framework for Binding of Access Subscription with Device(s). 

TR-45 is developing a standard which provides a mechanism to restrict the use of a cdma2000^®  M2M access subscription to a specific cdma2000^®  device or group of devices. Air interface and network signaling changes are provided to support this feature. Both symmetric-key and asymmetric-key cryptography are used to ensure the security of the feature.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: mobile phone manufacturers and cdma2000^® network managers.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
