Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (April 17, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.21 Engineering Committee on Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Intrinsic Safety(IS) Consideration has issued a call for interest for document TIA-4950-A initially titled "Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations". This revision effort, by TR-8.21, intends to further enhance the focus of this document on portable Land Mobile Radio (LMR) applications. The revision will solidify document coverage of the new technologies used in portable LMR today.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to Intrinsic Safety practitioners and telecommunicaitons LMR manufacturers.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
