FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 22, 2010
Arlington, Va. – Forty years after the first Earth Day, people and organizations around the world are taking action and making commitments to sustainability. In recognition of the challenge of climate change as well as the opportunities presented to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy, the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) adds its own commitment on behalf of the companies it represents.
Through standards, advocacy, sustainability initiatives, publications and networking/educational opportunities, TIA is supporting its member companies and the information and communications technology (ICT) industry in promoting products and services that meet environmental needs, manage the problems of pollution and diminished natural resources, improve energy efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions. For more information on the many ICT Green initiatives designed to help companies with their sustainability efforts, please visit www.tiaonline.org or contact Taly Walsh, VP, Sustainability, Intelligence & Networking, TIA at twalsh@tiaonline.org.
