Dr. John C. Chiang to Lead the United States Information Technology Office in Beijing

Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Welcomes Dr. Chiang's Leadership and Experience in Important New Role

Washington, D.C.. – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leader in advocacy, standards development, business development and intelligence for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, is pleased to welcome Dr. John C. Chiang as the President and Managing Director of the United States Information Technology Office (USITO) in Beijing, China. 

TIA is one of five parent associations of the United States Information Technology Office.  Founded in 1994, USITO was established with the primary goal of assisting innovative U.S. high-tech companies to access and further open the world's largest single emerging market for information and communications technology (ICT)-related products and services.

Dr. Chiang has nearly 30 years of work experience in the ICT industry, including work in the United States, Chinese Taipei, and China.  “John is a deeply experienced ICT professional who understands the challenges and opportunities facing global ICT companies investing in China. He will be a great leader for USITO,” said TIA President Grant Seiffert.  As a former President of Motorola (China) Technologies, Ltd., Dr. Chiang has most recently been a Partner at Dragon Bridge Capital where he advised promising Chinese companies in growing into world class enterprises, and formulating and executing China strategies for multinationals in China.

Dr. Chiang is currently a Visiting Professor at the Department of Management and Technology, Peking University, where he has taught courses on innovation, technology management and international business.
