TIA Publishes New Standard TIA-890-A

New standard will help eliminate high rate packet data air interference.

Arlington, Va. - The Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard, TIA-890-A, Test Application Specification (TAS) for High Rate Packet Data Air Interface.

This standard forms a compatibility standard for test applications in cdma2000® high rate packet data systems. While the details of the tests are beyond the scope of this document, an informative section illustrating some examples is provided. This standard is primarily oriented toward requirements necessary for the design and implementation of access terminals. As a result, detailed procedures are specified for access, however, are specified only to the extent necessary for compatibility with those specified for the access terminal.

TIA-890-A was created by TIA TR-45 Mobile & Personal Communication Systems, TR-45.5 Subcommittee on Spread Spectrum Digital Technology. To obtain copies of the document, contact Information Handling Services at (800) 854-7179 or visit http://global.ihs.com.
