Arlington, Va. - The Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard, TIA-102.AABF-A-2, Project 25 - Identity Extensions to Link Control - Word Formats - Addendum 2.
The purpose of this addendum is to update TIA-102.AABF-A, Link Control Word Formats and Messages. These enhancements provide for extended identification of the source of a call, status update, message update or call alert in cases where implicit identifications of the source is insufficient.
As an addendum, this document includes only information relevant to the addition of and changes to the referenced parent document. All other information pertinent to this topic is found in the parent document.
The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO), the Telecommunications and Technology Professionals Serving State Government (NASTD), and Federal Government Agencies (FED), known as APCO/NASTD/FED, will be issuing common systems standards for digital public safety radio communications (APCO/NASTD/FED Project 25 Standard). TIA, in cooperation with APCO/NASTD/FED, has generated standards, interim standards, specifications and TSBs that define the equipment and processes necessary for implementation of the APCO/NASTD/FED Project 25 Standard.
