FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 27, 2007
Arlington, Va. - The Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) has published a new standard, TIA-1099, Forward Link Only Air Interface Specification for Terrestrial Mobile Multimedia Multicast.
This standard provides a set of procedures that Forward Link Only devices and the Forward Link Only network can use to receive multicast services. Eight different forward link only RF channels have been specified. Equipment built to this standard can be used in a Forward Link Only RF channel subject to the allocation of that RF channel and to the rules and regulations of the country to which the allocated Forward Link Only RF channel had been assigned.
This standard ensures that a compliant forward link only device can obtain service through any forward link only network conforming to this standard.
TIA-1099 was created by TIA TR-47.1 Subcommittee on Terrestrial Mobile Multimedia Multicast based on Forward Link Only Technology. To obtain copies of the document, contact Information Handling Services at (800) 854-7179 or visit global.ihs.com.
