Arlington, Va. – As countries, states, provinces and municipalities seek to reduce e-waste and carbon emissions, companies must comply with such laws as Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) product take-back regulations, rules governing restricted substances in their products, and even the safe shipment of goods across borders.
EIATRACK, a service of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), covers an extensive scope of regulations and legislations geared to the information and communications technology (ICT), consumer electronics (CE), and medical device industries, and the service has just launched an interactive upgrade to allow subscribers to more effectively keep track of the many laws and regulations around the world.
As industry and government seek common ground on complex issues such as product take back, navigating the maze of environmental regulations and legislation state-to-state and around the globe has become infinitely more challenging for manufacturers, distributors and contractors. More than 10 years ago, leading IT manufacturers joined to develop EIATRACK, an online tool that maintains current information and resources to making the tracking task simple.
TIA will unveil EIATRACK 2.0 at CEA's Greener Gadgets Conference in New York this Thursday, Feb. 26. CEA, along with industry associations such as ITI, AdvaMed, CCCA and ECCB, are sponsors of the service, an arrangement that offers cost-savings to their members that subscribe to EIATRACK.
