TIA 'Drill Instructors' to School Attendees on Green ICT at SUPERCOMM Boot Camp

Afternoon Program on Oct. 22 to Address Green Design and Market Access, Sustainability and Business Opportunities in a Low Carbon Economy

Arlington, Va. - The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is holding an ICT Green Boot Camp for attendees at the SUPERCOMM trade show in Chicago on Oct. 22.

Foremost authorities on sustainability, green design and environmental regulatory compliance for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry will be serving as the "drill instructors" for those wanting to get up to speed quickly on key environmental and energy topics.

The afternoon programming begins at 1 p.m. in Room W179B at McCormick Place with the first of three consecutive hour-long panel discussions. Panel topics are:

  • Green Design and Market Access: Ensuring Product Compliance with RoHS Requirements, Energy Efficiency Mandates and Green Procurement Standards (Speakers include: Paul Hagen, Principal, Beveridge & Diamond, P.C.; Stan Salot, President, Electronic Components Certification Board (ECCB); Gary Marchessault, Environmental Specialist, Molex Incorporated; Andrew Sweatman, General Manager, WSP Environmental. Moderated by: Susan Schramm, Head of Marketing, Americas, Nokia-Siemens Networks)
  • Smart 2020: Business Opportunities and the Low Carbon Economy in the Information Age (Speakers include: Molly Webb, The Climate Group, Co-author of Smart 2020; Brendan Herron, Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy, CURRENT Group, LLC. Moderated by: Joseph Anderson)
  • Can Broadband Be Green? (Speakers include: Imran Hajimusa, Vice President, Broadband Access, Infineon Technologies; Andrew Fanara, Product Development Team Leader, Climate Protection Partnership Division, ENERGY STAR Program, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)

 

The discussions will be followed by a reception for attendees at 4:15 p.m., sponsored by Infineon Technologies.
