TIA Opposes FCC Mandate on Lower 700 MHz Band Mobile Device Interoperability

ARLINGTON, VA (June 1, 2012) - The Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA) filed comments on June 1 in a Federal Communication Commission (FCC) proceeding considering mandating the interoperability of mobile devices in the Lower 700 MHz band.  TIA urged the Commission to reject such a mandate.  The association said the requirement could present significant technical and interference problems, severely delay the availability of wireless devices in the 700 MHz spectrum, and violate the Commission’s policy of technology neutrality.
