TIA Applauds Senate Judiciary Committee’s Approval of Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation

ARLINGTON, VA (May 22, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading trade association for global manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers of information and communications technology (ICT), applauded the Senate Judiciary Committee's approval of bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform legislation.

"TIA thanks the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the 'Gang of Eight" for their extensive and bipartisan work on immigration reform," said TIA President Grant Seiffert.  "The United States needs to modernize its high-skilled immigration system to remain globally competitive, and today's action represents a very important step towards that goal.  We greatly appreciate the Judiciary Committee's work to achieve a fair compromise regarding high-skilled immigration, and we now urge the full Senate to pass the bill."
