TIA Applauds Passage of JOBS Act
WASHINGTON, D.C. — On behalf of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and its 500 member companies, the manufacturers and suppliers of global communications networks, TIA President Grant Seiffert released the following statement upon final passage of the JOBS Act of 2012:
"The passage of the bipartisan JOBS Act is outstanding news for entrepreneurs and innovators in America. This legislation will benefit the small businesses that make up the majority of TIA member companies, allowing for strong, stable and speedy growth. The JOBS Act will help our members access the public markets, while providing tools to help these innovative companies obtain the capital they need to continue to grow and hire.
"TIA thanks the Obama Administration and the members of Congress who supported this important legislation, and deeply appreciates the bipartisan leaders in both the House and Senate who worked swiftly to ensure final passage of this important Act. We look forward to the bill being signed into law by President Obama as soon as possible."

Last week was a busy one at the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland. The signs are very encouraging that the member countries of the WTO are back on track to move the WTO’s trade liberalization agenda forward – from the new International Services Agreement (ISA) to the ongoing negotiations to expand the existing WTO Information Technology Agreement (ITA).
