TIA Applauds Launch of NTIA Reauthorization Process
Arlington, VA (February 2, 2017) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded House Communications and Technology Subcommittee Chairman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Ranking Member Mike Doyle (D-PA) for beginning the process of reauthorizing the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
TIA’s Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Cinnamon Rogers issued the following statement:
“NTIA plays a critical role in coordinating federal spectrum use and administering broadband infrastructure grant programs. TIA strongly supports strengthening the agency’s authority and increasing its funding to further the deployment of communications technologies that will transform how we stay connected, bridge social and economic gaps, and remain globally competitive. As the $40 billion AWS-3 spectrum auction proved, small federal investments yield taxpayer benefits hundreds of times over.
“Ultimately, better spectrum management will lead to accelerated investment to build out next generation wireless networks and applications, boost spending on communications products and services, and create jobs here at home. TIA looks forward to working with Chairman Blackburn, Ranking Member Doyle, and the other members of the subcommittee.”
