TIA Applauds Confirmation of Tom Wheeler as FCC Chairman and Michael O’Rielly as FCC Commissioner

ARLINGTON, VA (October 30, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today commended the confirmation of Tom Wheeler to chair the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Michael O’Rielly as FCC Commissioner.   Grant Seiffert, president of TIA, issued the following statement:

“TIA strongly supported the nominations of both Tom Wheeler and Michael O'Rielly and we are pleased with their confirmations.  Both Commissioners have deep backgrounds in the communications industry which will enable them to hit the ground running and move forward on issues that are vital to the economy and creating jobs.  We also recognize the accomplishments of Mignon Clyburn during her tenure as acting chair.”
