Arlington, VA (February 6, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded the confirmation of Sen. Max Baucus as U.S. Ambassador to China. 

TIA President Grant Seiffert stated, “We thank Sen. Baucus for his leadership in the Senate Finance Committee and congratulate him on his nomination as U.S. Ambassador to China.  China is one of the largest economies in the world and an important market for the telecommunications industry.  The Senator’s extensive trade policy experience will be a big benefit to helping ensure a level playing field for U.S. businesses operating in China.”
