FCC Announces Release of Report on Barriers to Broadband Adoption by the Advanced Communications Law & Policy Institute. - Broadband Grant Application Deadline Extended
The following was recently posted on the Broadband USA website: "The application closing deadline for the Broadband Initiatives Program (BIP) and Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) is extended until 5 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on August 20, 2009..." - TIA Files Letter with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Provisions Regarding “Non-Remote” Broadband Projects. TIA urges the Rural Utilities Service to revise provisions in the Notice of Funds Availability for the Broadband Infrastructure Program relating to “nonremote” areas to ensure that all truly rural areas, notwithstanding their proximity to a city or other urbanized area, can equally benefit from BIP grant funding and gain access to broadband service and technologies.
