Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) Revises Broadcast and Multicast Service Standard

New cdma2000® Wireless IP Network Revision Enhances Service Interfaces

Arlington, Va. - The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) has published a revision of its TIA-1041 standard, Broadcast and Multicast Service in cdma2000® Wireless IP Network. The revision, TIA-1041-A, enhances the standard's scope in the Broadcast-Multicast Service (BCMCS) field.

This standard defines core network protocols and procedures for the support of BCMCS for cdma2000® networks, in addition to setting the services and architecture around BCMCS.

TIA-1041-A was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45: Mobile and Personal Communications Systems Engineering Committee's TR-45.6: cdma2000® Wireless Packet Data Technology Subcommittee.
