MANAGER, INTERNATIONAL AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

This position reports to the DIRECTOR, INTERNATIONAL AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS.

Description: Assist the Government Affairs Department in implementing its priorities and plans, at the direction of the Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist the Director of International and Government Affairs in implementing department priorities, furthering the international interests of communications technology manufacturers in the U.S. and abroad. • Develop and maintain relationships and open lines of communication with TIA members and relevant agencies and organizations, while focusing on international public policy related to the information and communications technology (ICT) industry. • Advocate TIA members' positions and facilitate business opportunities in other countries, through coordination and active participation in bilateral and multilateral dialogues. • Draft and submit documents with relevant agencies in response to requests for such information. Assist in the coordination of TIA policy events, including TIA’s Spring Policy Summit, tradeshow, and other luncheons and conferences by arranging for adequate participation from government officials and their staff, including the hosting of events with international delegations and TIA members during delegation visits in the United States. • Draft articles for TIA’s publications, press releases and other relevant documents. Monitor issues by reading and reporting on information obtained through contacts, trade press, various publications and filings, meetings, etc. • Other job related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Candidate must be self-motivated, responsible, action-oriented individual and team oriented; have strong interpersonal and communication skills; have a background in international trade/affairs; have familiarity with telecommunications industry interests; have strong organizational, research, writing, and analytical skills; have BA or BS. Position may require international travel.
