NEC has recently announced that the "NEC Express5800 Scalable HA Server" achieved world record performance for x86-based servers on the SPECjbb®2005 benchmark powered by Intel Xeon® X7460 processors, Oracle JRockit® 6 and Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 5.3. The NEC Express5800/A11602 delivers 2,150,260 SPECjbb®2005 bops. This is the world record among all x86-based servers. This is also the world record for 16 socket servers and beats the previous record by 40 percent.
